A problem faced by many, including me =)

Hey people, if you are struggling to lose weight to look fetch and fab, you're not alone kay.. Many people are spending a lot of time planning and trying to lose weight/fat.
I myself find it challenging and rather time consuming to do so. Here are a few tips you can follow and before you know it, you are actually losing weight! wow, right? There are some steps you should and should not do. Some myths that you need to get out of your mind.

p/s: When I mean weight, it means unhealthy weight. Not muscles =)

1. Don't weigh yourself like several times a day. It'll just kill you inside. Trust me. Our weight fluctuates from time to time. When your body decides to retain more water and you're suddenly 54 kg instead of 53, don't worry. Sometimes it
's just water or more undigested food that your body haven't said goodbye to.
It will also make you less motivated if you see your weight going up instead of down.



2. Don't ever skip meals, especially eating only ONE BIG meal a day. People, including me use to think that skipping meals would be the best and fastest way to lose weight. Honestly, it works! For awhile..
You skip breakfast, lunch and dinner, then you'll look slimmer at night, but trust me, it's only temporary. Plus, when you skip a meal, your body detects the change and it turns on the 'starvation mode' in your body. Therefore, it'll absorb as much nutrients it can as possible the next time you eat something. Eating small and frequent meals will bring about a good effect.


3.You MUST adapt good eating habits. Say goodbye to 'Nasi Lemak' or McD. For breakfast, try eating oats, anything high in fibre(whole grain stuff-> brans, muesli..etc). Drink low fat milk instead of full cream. For lunch, increase fibre intake and reduce carbohydrate intake, especially white rice. If possible, try changing to brown rice. It's good for your colon as well as your weight. Also, don't completely cut out fat from your diet. Good fats(which can be obtained from oilive oil, nuts) are essential for burning bad fat.

4. Don't snack on unhealthy stuff! I'm being sucha hypocrite by just saying this. haha..It's so hard to say bye bye to mars bars, rocky, chachos.. mmhm..
Those snacks contain more calories than you can imagine *faints.

5. Cut down on those sweet drinks. I tried that before. When I stopped drinking my 3 in 1 coffee, i actually lost weight! :D

6. For your sake, Exercise! It's not only great for your outer appearance but your heart as well. Just by losing fat, you reduce a great risk of getting hypertension, diabetes .. So many I can't being to list them out or I won't be able to stop.
Taking an evening walk like half an hour a day would do a lot. Don't underestimate walking. Oh yeah! To girls out there, shopping doesn't count ya.. Hehe. You should brisk walk. I'm sure you don't brisk walk while shopping right?
Exercising will increase your metabolic rate plus, you'll be happier cause exercising releases endorphine and endorphine makes you happy.

7. Do housework. Help your poor mum :) and without knowing it, you'll be helping youself too! It's a win win situation for you both!
You are losing weight and being active while your mum gets the rest she desperately needs.
For example, when you mop the floor, you have to bend down to squeeze the water from the mop and move right-left-front-back-roundandround many times.
You'll burn more fat than sitting down and watching tv.

8. Last but most importantly, have discipline to carry out even those few steps.
I'm sure you'll notice an improvement in your body shape. Hehe..
