Blame the rain *grins*

Time has finally set me free from the dreaded A Levels. I told myself I'm going to make my time as productive as possible. Had a LONG list awaiting me(if you minus the stuff i mentioned in my previous post).
1.Exercise.
2.Exercise.
3.Exercise.
4.Exercise.
5.Exercise.
6.Play with puppy.
7.Bathe the dogs.
The moment i came home free from exams, it has been raining all the time!
Can't exercise, like jogging and all. I know you can say I can exercise at home and all, but I'd rather swim, or jog or walk..
Blame it on the rain. There's never been an evening that is rain-free.
SO, I made my time 'very' 'very' 'productive' and watched HEROES like gila.
I just started and I'm more than halfway through season 1. My goodness. Bet my eyes are gonna pop soon. Oh yeah, I exercised my mouth by eating, does that count? *puppy eyes*

I love Hayden Panettiera! The more I watch HEROES the more I like her, in and out of the show. She's just so gorgeous! She's not like super slim, tall, anaeroxic looking model that has that fake-but-attractive looks. She's short too, like me :p ..

Gota chao~

Face it girls, life's unfair..

Every month, we have to face the MOST dreaded event that never fails to haunt us.
What is it? Menstrual cramps.

It's not a serious medical condition which involves being admitted to hospital and all but it's dramatic enough for us to whine and not function for a day or two.

The pain is typically described as dull, aching, cramping and often radiates to the lower back..The pain is the result of uterine contraction caused by prostaglandins (a hormone found in your body).
The production of prostaglandins in the uterus is stimulated by the hormone progesterone, which is made by the ovary after ovulation has occurred. Other symptoms are dizziness, nausea and vomiting, headaches and diarrhea accompany menstrual cramps.

Here's a few ways to help remedy the pain and discomfort.

1.Get enough rest and try to release your stress and anxiety before your period is due. If you are tired and fatigue, it'll make the cramps worse.

2.Apply head to your abdomen by using a hot/warm pack or taking a nice warm bath.

3.Exercise. Even when you're having your period, try to exercise like normal and carry out your normal daily routine.

4.Eat Omega 3 Fatty acids which can be found from salmon, mackerel and capsule.

5.Keep away from alcohol and cigarettes. They'll worsen the cramps.

6.Stay positive!

So guys and girls, do encourage your friends who are suffering from this dreaded monthly condition.

All the best girls~

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow!

I really can't wait for tomorrow, I can almost smell freedom. Biology paper 4, a rather demanding paper, is my last paper tomorrow! By merely smelling freedom, I have already planned what I MUST do after tomorrow.

1. Watch HEROES. It's been released ages ago but I haven't watched 1 episode of it. I heard it's really great and I'm going to find out for myself.
2. Shopahilic and Baby! Yes, I'm SO a fan of Sophie Kinsella. Whenever I read her booked, I just get hooked and end up staying up late just to continue reading till I'm finally satisfies(which is of course when I finish it >.< ).
3. My English tutor told me last year that Jodi Picoult is an amazing book writer.
I like the synopsis of Keeping Faith and Nineteen Minutes.

4. BOSTON LEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOHHHOOOOO! My favourite favourite favourite!
I so love Denny Crane, Alan Shore and Shirley Schmidt. I just love this series so much. It's perhaps the best I've came across so far. I just love the sarcasm involved in their every actions and speech. Can't wait to watch season 4!!!
5. Gossip Girl. MUST WATCH. I've watched a few series and I'm so totally hooked. Moral of the story, (Never watch any TV series before or in the midst of your exams) It's highly addictive and you just want to watch the next one, then the next, and then the next and the next. It never ends cause you want to know what happens next. LOL.

Anyway, I have to go before I really get the urge to do those stuff before my exams, so, toodles for now.

Biology, my last battle!

ALMOST done with A Levels. Done for good! Hehe. 2 more papers. My favorite papers.
I'm still struggling with a few topics though. I can NEVER get genetics. All the homozygous and etc etc and Mandells Law. Some people find it easy, but I guess I'm just slower when it comes to that? Hehe..

Oh yeah, I dread the female menstruation cycle too! It's too related to me till I hate it. LOL.
The FSH and LH.
To all the biology students, all the best and happy studying!
Ps: Thanks to Miss Marisa too! You're a great lecturer.

Searching for the definition within.

I have been searching deep within me for the definition of love.
After looking, searching and exploring the feelings inside of me, I managed to
define what's within me.

Love is you and me.....

Stand up! Stand up!

10 million. Just imagine. 10 MILLION people are diagnosed with cancer every year and they predict it's going to rise another 50% by the year of 2020 where 15 million people a year will be diagnosed.
Cancer takes a long time to develop and how you live your life counts!
Cancer is painful and a condition nobody wants. So, JUST STAND UP people. If we have cancer, stand up and be strong! You can make it.
For the rest, take steps to prevent getting cancer. Everything you do counts.
Fight this unwanted condition! Lets do it together. Warn love ones.
There are many preventive measures you can take to prevent cancer.
1. You can go for genetic screening. Now, they have this new device which can screen to see if you have colon cancer genes or breast cancer genes. I think it's good cause it's better to detect early and in case*touch wood*you have the genes, you can take drastic measures in order to prevent from getting cancer.
You should do this test especially if your family has cancer history.
2. EXERCISE! Yes, that's they key. Being overweight greatly increases your risk factor for developing cancer. Besides that, exercising also reduces your risk of getting many other disease and sickness(eg, coronary heart disease, hypertension.. etc..etc). Oh yeah, on top of that, a slim and sexay body. muahaha. Who doesn't want that?? *beams*

3. Be careful when you use plastic bottles or plastic food containers. Especially when exposed to heat, the plastic releases dioxin which greatly increases the risk of breast cancer.

Also, NEVER use plastic containers to microwave your food. That's very dangerous unless it's stated there you can. About mee in my cup, don't pour hot water into the container cause it'll release dioxin too. Very very bad. Pour into a bowl if possible. Use glass or ceramic ..
4. Practice safe sex. Use condoms. HPV (human pappiloma virus) is a sexually transmitted disease and it causes cervical cancer. Even using condom can't prevent you 100% from contracting it. Therefore, practice abstinence instead or stick to one partner.
5. Quit smoking and quit inhaling a smokers smoke. They both can cause cancer. So, if you love yourself and the people around you, quit. By the way, smoking don't only cause lung cancer but GREATLY increases your risk of getting many other types of cancer.
6. Control your alcohol intake. Don't get me wrong, I didn't say NO ALCOHOL. In fact, a glass of wine a day can prevent risk of coronary heart disease. Beer protects against the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, known to cause ulcers and possibly linked to stomach cancer. But don't over-do it kay? Cause that'll lead to another set of problems.

7. Veggies veggies. Don't make your mum nag you to make you eat a bowl of veggies. Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants, which help repair our damaged cells. Definately can prevent cancer.

Several other ways,
-Use sun block, with the depletion of ozone layer, our risk of getting skin cancer also increases.
-Eat grapes.
-Say bye bye to deep fried potato(chips, fries). Choose mashing the potato instead.
-Drink green tea.
-Take multivitamin everyday.
-Avoid eating grilled/burnt food.
-Cut out protein with fat surrounding it.
-Drink more water.
-Eat organic food. No pesticide and hormones.
-Add brocolli and garlic to your diet. Good for you! (:
-Eat fresh food( eg, cucumber instead of pickles)

Together, let us take preventive measures from now onwards.
Heard the famous saying, 'Prevention better than cure' ?..
Yeaps. It may seem hard at first to inculcate all this steps into our everyday life. Trust me, it gets easier. To make things even better, get your love ones to practice these steps together with you. It's rewarding to see your loves healthy!

Take care people, and all the best in trying!

Have you ever loved somebody so much it makes you cry?

This is a part from Brandy's song ' Have you ever? '. It's such a lovely and emo song.

Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can't sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don't come out right
Have you ever, have you ever

That's the chorus by the way. When you love someone, you're placing yourself in a position to get hurt, let down, torn apart and even to feel the emptiness.

I'm not saying loving someone brings all bad, in fact, being loved in return while loving someone can be the most rewarding and awesome thing that can happen to you.

I've placed myself in that position to be hurt, let down, torn apart, feel the emptiness BUT, I have also been loved, loved and loved in return.

When you love someone, you also want to be close to that person. Want to be surrounded by that person's warmth and presence..

Right now, I'm missing your presence and warmth that surrounds me when we spend time together. I want to be close to you. Can't wait to see you!

love,
*~amy~*
